Our Kentucky District Wesleyan Kid’s Camp was held July 11-15 at our Maysville Campground. Fifty-four (54) children attended and nearly seventy (70) youth and adults were present. Lori Sheehan of Fountain City (IN) Wesleyan Church was the special children’s worker. Josh and Becca Bowlin, newly appointed missionaries to New Zealand, challenged the children concerning missions. Rev. Steve Sandefur, District Wesleyan Kid’s Director, and the WK Committee provided very capable leadership. Several children received Christ as their savior and many others renewed their commitment to Christ. Mark your calendar…next year’s Kid’s Camp is July 10-14, 2006.

The 2005 Kentucky District Wesleyan Camp was held July 25-31 on the Maysville Campground. A total of 165 registered with dozens more attending. The God anointed preaching of Rev. Jerry Brecheisen and Dr. O.W. Willis was a blessing to everyone. The singing of Rev. Ben and Sue Colburn was an enjoyable blessing as well. The Sunday afternoon (7/31) District Celebration Service was attended by 174. The Colburns, Sylvia Smith and Ken Gates offered special singing and Rev. Willis brought a challenging message based on Acts 1:8. John and Shanda Croft and two of their children (Wesleyan Missionaries to the Czech Republic) were our special guests on Friday, July 29. Mark your calendar…next year’s Family Camp is July 24-30, 2006.

The Kentucky District Wesleyan Kid’s Committee is planning a “Brainstorming Tour” in September and early October. This tour is designed to network Children’s Workers from across the state, provide a think tank for idea sharing and reflection, and help expand and reenergize each of our visions for children’s ministries. Mark your calendar and plan to attend one of the Brainstorming Tour stops - Saturday, September 17 - Elizabethtown Trinity; Saturday, September 24 - Ashland Westwood; and Saturday, October 8 - Lexington Stonewall. Each stop will run from 10:00 until 4:00 PM and will include lunch, as well as helpful resources for ministry. Best of all…IT IS FREE!
